Johnny Raekes is a professional BMX rider and a member of the Sweets Mob! Johnny takes the same tech approach to BMX and puts it into kendama with his creative tricks and passion for leveling up. Johnny has been playing for a while after being introduced to kendama by Reed Stark. Kendama brings the same satisfaction of landing a trick on a bike without the risk, and Johnny has incorporated it into his life.

This kendama is an updated version of his original Amped design and represents a lot of Johnny's mindfulness in life, love, and the connections we share as humans.

The Broken Shape was designed by Sweets Pro player Josh Kim to help expand the next generation of kendama play. The shape takes elements from previous kendamas and combines them together in a way that makes an incredible all around kendama. Larger cups, stance, and tama mean the Broken Shape is great for beginners to learn with an experienced players to unlock new tricks.

Sticky Clear:
Sticky Clear is a glossy clear coat that is... well... sticky! it is the clear on most of our kendamas and offers a bunch of grip while still leaving room for adjustment.

Cushion Clear:
Created right here in the Sweets Lab. Cushion Clear is our premium pain that we spray on tamas in Minneapolis. Cush gives a matte look and a lot of grip. It feels almost rubber like to the touch and is made to help you lock in tricks.

Anti-Skid:
(Also known as Antiskid Matte/Rubber 2.0)
This is a new matte clear that is different than the Silk/Rubber of the past. It still offers a good grip but with a lot more room for adjustment with tricks. So far the durability of this clear has been next level. After testing for a while we are stoked to add this new clear to our line up for the first time!

Natty:
Natty or Natural means the wood is exposed without paint or a clear coat. This tends to be more slick at first but with time and sweat a natty tama can break in to have a lot of grip.
