The mission for the first YPN Launch Party alongside NY International Toy Fair 2019 was connecting, educating, and empowering young professionals within the Toy Industry and tangent spaces. Hosted in the Jump Into the Light venue, America’s first VR cinema and playlab, the technology integrated space allowed for professionals young and old to be immersed in toyetic fun. The debut YPN Launch Party carried a youthful spirit of collaboration across brands, individuals, and creatives from all across the US and beyond. Music entertainment from Dallas based, Cure for Paranoia, and Saint Paul, MN based, DJ WNDRLND.


Young Professionals Education Panel

Young Professional Educational Panel moderated by Steve Starobinsky, CMO of Diverse Marketing. Panel members (Carl Zealer, founder of Nowstalgic Toys, Cam Larian, son of Isaac Larion and founder of Kid Focus, Marybeth Lindsay, Senior Buyer at Books a Million, T.J. Simmons, Buyer at Kahootz, and Aric Klar, Founder of Toyology Toys) discussed introductions and current positions within Toy Industry, the effects of Toys R Us leaving the industry and the takeaways TRU’s absence means heading into 2019 and beyond, how toys and sustainability should work/not work together, and advice for young professionals to establish themselves for a career of growth and success.
