We worked with the painters at Kendama MPLS to create this amazing Double Rainbow tama. They put in the work to create the rainbow fade in the Sweets Lab, and we finished it off with our own Cushion Clear. These tamas look great, and track well. They are very limited, so get yours now!
Limited edition MPLS Pride Sticker and Sweets Pride Sticker included.
Beech Prime Custom Ken
Painted in the Sweets Lab in Minneapolis, MN and finished with Cushion Clear
Prime Customs are Prime Kendamas, painted in the Sweets Lab. We want to provide a premium version of the Prime line, and show off what our in-house painters can do! Prime Customs have their own packaging, include a spinner bead and have a cross ken on the handle instead of the Sweets mark, but the shape, specs and measurements of the kendama are exactly the same as a regular Prime. Because Prime Customs are painted by hand, there may be some variation between what is pictured and what you receive.
Sticky Clear:
Sticky Clear is a glossy clear coat that is... well... sticky! it is the clear on most of our kendamas and offers a bunch of grip while still leaving room for adjustment.
Cushion Clear:
Created right here in the Sweets Lab. Cushion Clear is our premium pain that we spray on tamas in Minneapolis. Cush gives a matte look and a lot of grip. It feels almost rubber like to the touch and is made to help you lock in tricks.
Anti-Skid:
(Also known as Antiskid Matte/Rubber 2.0)
This is a new matte clear that is different than the Silk/Rubber of the past. It still offers a good grip but with a lot more room for adjustment with tricks. So far the durability of this clear has been next level. After testing for a while we are stoked to add this new clear to our line up for the first time!
Natty:
Natty or Natural means the wood is exposed without paint or a clear coat. This tends to be more slick at first but with time and sweat a natty tama can break in to have a lot of grip.
The "shape" of. a kendama generally refers to the specs of the ken or handle. There are a variety of ken shapes and as the game of kendama continues. to progress shapes and styles change to meet new needs for play. Certain ken shapes help make learning or landing certain tricks easier, but for the most part ken choice comes down to player preference.
BROKEN:
Our newest shape as of 2025. Designed by Pro player Josh Kim to help unlock the next generation of kendama play. Everything is a little bit larger and more honed in for high level play or just learning the basics.
LEGEND:
Designed by Matt "Sweets" Jorgenson. Matt wanted a ken that was a bit beefier and had better lunar balance than the Amped and help create the Legend Shape or LS
AMPED:
The Amped took the BOOST to the next level with even larger cups and more pronounced stalls. The Amped and BOOST are both excellent starting places for any new player.
BOOST:
Designed by Legend Christian Fraser. The Prime was our first major step away from a traditional kendama shape and the BOOST took that to new levels. With oversized or 'boost'ed cups and features it is still a great all-around shape for players of any skill level.
